The Parklands surrounding the city range from busy sports fields and formal rose gardens to wild
scrub. This south eastern parklands are a naturally beautiful landscape, with a softness and
stillness despite the closeness to the centre of the surrounding city

The setting sun illuminates the interplay of light, shadow and depth in vibrant colour. Blurred focus
adds a softness that evokes stillness.

D’Entrecasteaux Channel - Tasmania

When staying with friends at Birch’s Bay, I saw an isolated stretch of beach on the D’Entrecasteaux
Channel. Despite the ruggedness it was glowing in the late afternoon sun.

The paperbark forest, ferns and wild creek at the heart of Centennial Park are rendered in vibrant
colour and filtered sunlight

Moreton Bay Figs - Botanic Park

The Morton Bay trees in Botanic Park were planted as early as the 1860s-1880s. Their canopy is
magnificent, and below that their surface tree roots, the sinuous shapes are silhouetted in the
setting sun.
