A suspended field of layered marks and partial erasures. A dark horizontal band anchors the surface while fragments emerge and recede through worked layers of sedimented paint. The composition suggests memory not as image, but as residue—held, disrupted, and continually re-formed across the surface.

The Morton Bay trees in Botanic Park were planted as early as the 1860s-1880s. Their canopy is
magnificent, and below that their surface tree roots, the sinuous shapes are silhouetted in the
setting sun.
