"Rhapsody at the watering Hole" is a symphony of pastel hues, a testament to the tranquility and unity found amidst the African wilderness. lnspired by the captivating photograph by Scotch Macaskill, l wanted to breathe life into the serenity of this scene, inviting viewers into a realm where time slows and nature's harmonies unfold.

My aspiration was to immofialise the distinctive personatities and singu[ar charm of every elephant, from the regaI grandeur of the etders to the ptayfut innocence radiating from the younger ones. Enhancing the tabteau was the exquisite interptay of shadows upon the water's surTace, imbuing my artwork with a sense of depth and richness.

I chose pastel pencils because of their exceptionaI control and precision, attowing me to intricately render the fine detaits of the elephants' majestic forms, from the texture of their wrinkled skin to the subtle play of tight and shadow across their bodies. This level of detaiL enhances the realism of the artwork, immersing viewers in the tranquil beauty of the scene.
