In The Lake, Proudlock depicts a lonely dingey tied to a stick, in what one can only image is an expansive lake. The shifting water and delicate waves are intricately depicted, almost as if the water could spill out of the frame. This piece is symbolic in its lonely depiction of the small boat, the tall thin stick as its only anchor to not becoming lost in the ripples of the lake.
