Date: 4th December 2024
Location: Cierva Cove, Antarctic Peninsula
Story: The species I was most eager to observe and photograph in Antarctica was the Leopard Seal. I was incredibly fortunate to have an unforgettable encounter with a young individual resting on a small iceberg. I was captivated by its striking colouration and the stunning contrast between its dry and wet fur. Additionally, I was fascinated by its unique trident-shaped teeth.
